When to Book a Disney Cruise

Timing is one of the biggest levers you have over what you pay for a Disney cruise and which stateroom you can get. Unlike some cruise lines, Disney rarely runs deep last-minute discounts, so the general rule is simple: the earlier you book, the better your price and choice tend to be.

How far in advance should you book?

Disney typically opens new sailings for booking roughly 12 to 18 months ahead. For the most popular itineraries — summer sailings, holiday weeks, and Alaska — booking as soon as dates open gives you the widest selection of stateroom categories and the lowest opening prices, which usually rise as the ship fills.

When are Disney cruises cheapest?

Prices track demand. The lowest fares tend to fall in the off-peak windows: early January through early February, late August through September after school starts, and parts of the fall outside of holidays. If your dates are flexible, comparing several departure dates for the same itinerary almost always reveals a cheaper option.

Does booking early cost more if the price drops?
